GB Paralympian and television presenter Ade Adepitan today launches a campaign encouraging people to nominate someone from their local community to be considered as a Paralympic Torch Bearer next summer.
The Paralympic Torch Relay is looking for torchbearers who have either supported or inspired people with disability and made a difference in their local community. This can be someone who has overcome their own disability to participate in sport or somebody who has broken down barriers to facilitate disabled people becoming more involved in sport in their local area.
Today’s campaign has been rolled out by the Paralympic Games’ Presenting Partner Lloyds TSB, the only Presenting Partner of both the London 2012 Olympic and Paralympic Torch Relays. To mark the start of the search, Lloyds TSB have commissioned a set of striking visual images showing local Paralympic Heroes with the people that have supported and inspired them.
The images feature athletes in iconic locations in the five Flame Festival towns that the Paralympic Torch will visit (London, Belfast, Edinburgh, Cardiff & Stoke Mandeville) and the images include athletes who are linked to these key cities
