Today, Virgin Atlantic is proud to announce the launch of a
new route between London and Cancun, Mexico.
The twice weekly service will begin on 12 June 2012 and will see up to 94,000
customers travelling between London and Cancun in the first year.
The new Mexico
route will become Virgin Atlantic’s 33rd worldwide destinations. The new route is
predicted to deliver around $25million of tourism revenue to the Cancun market
each year and has the potential to create up to 650 jobs in aviation and
tourism in Mexico.
The announcement comes as Virgin Atlantic celebrate 25
years of their London to Miami route with a celebratory 25th
anniversary flight between the two cities.
Sir Richard Branson and guests will be arriving in Miami
for a glamorous welcome party at the Versace
Mansion and the
opportunity to take in the sights and sounds of the city.
