MONDAY 26th APRIL 2010:
Triathlon Champion Alistair Brownlee, Samuel Hall and Abigail Haywood will be providing some inspiration and advice to our next generation of Olympic and Paralympic hopefuls as part of the Lloyds TSB Local Heroes initiative.

Local Heroes was launched in 2008, with the aim of supporting promising British sporting talent on their journey to London 2012 and beyond. The programme is designed to assist young athletes across Britain with awards of £1,000 to help with the costs of training and competing at national and international level – at a time when they might need it the most.

Over the next two weeks, the ‘Local Heroes’ and their parents will attend one of five inspirational workshops across the country to ensure they not only benefit from the financial support and recognition, but also from practical advice on how to prepare for life as an elite athlete.
