On Thursday 18th October 2007, Princess Anne announcing the £1 million partnership between Save the Children and First Group, at Paddington Station.
The Princess Royal, as ambassador for Save The Children, will name the first First Great Western train to feature Save The Children's new logo.
From this autumn, the Save The Children nameplate will be seen across First Great Western's network in the South and South West of England and South Wales, helping to raise the profile and funds for the charity.
Save The Children was set up almost 90 years ago by two sisters to achieve and protect the rights of children. Today, many children are still denied proper healthcare, food, education and protection. Figures on child poverty published by the government this year showed that, for the first time in many years, child poverty has risen.
